Les Demoiselles d'Avignon

This Sunday's Mixtape set went a little artier. Like, Cubist artier. I put together a set based abstractly on Picasso's Les Demoislles d'Avignon. It ended up going in cycles - from what the aesthetics of this bizarre brothel might have felt like to a social commentary on prostitution to what may have lead the male viewer of the painting there to how everyone might have felt after the moment in the picture.

There was some sort of week-long hacker attack on Time Warner Internet last week, so my usual Thursday set at the Velvet didn't get started until 9:30SLT. I've been obsessively reading Rolling Stones bios lately so I diverged into Marianne Faithfull's autobiography, Faithfull. Wow, did she sleep with some bizarre people and tell her own fantastic version of some Stones folk lore.
